Default Since DS considers to be too trivial...

You raised with 5-5 on the button and lead out on the flop.

Not enough info? What else do you want to know?

Once again, limit HE, you have 5-5 on the button, you raise, BB calls, flop comes x-x-x, BB checks, you raise, BB checkraises. To make it easier (or tougher), let's say you just sat down and got zero reads on the table.

Remember, the question is about basic strategy*. So the answer should be something that's generally right. I am looking for a rule of thumb.

Just for info: Chances for the flop to hold overcards to 5-5
0 overcards: 1,3%
1 overcard: 13,7%
2 overcards: 40%
3 overcards: 31,1%

Now you can do the math. Your opponent will make a pair on the flop in 32.6% of the cases. Add the chances that he has one already. How likely is it that he has a pair better than yours on the flop? Compare this to the pot odds you are getting for a calldown and your chances to hit a set....etc. Maybe someone has done this computation already and maybe the answer can be found in some book...I don't know.

In a nutshell: 5-5 is in the borderline area between a made hand and a semi-bluff and I want to know if the default is to call down or to dump it if I hit on resistance.

* If the continuation bet is right or wrong is a different story.
