For Buffy fans, there is an Amazon 1 day sale for the Buffy Collectors edition.

95 (down from the normal 165) for all 7 seasons

My friend has been pimping this series to me for a while, so I finally sat down and watched it with her this past weekend. 2 discs in, gotta say, it's some of the better TV I've ever watched. Great stuff. (I've never seen Buffy or Angel.)

It's a shame it got canceled, but the production value for this thing looks really high - I'd imagine it was pretty expensive for network TV at the time. Funny though that the movie was budgeted at $40M production cost, tack on another $20M for marketing... feels high for what was essentially a broken series (and, that's like 2 more seasons of the show!).

Pretty interesting "long tail" argument concerning Firefly

(the $1M production cost / episode is way off though, my guess is it was around $2M.)

when i saw this thread title i just felt weird and happy at the same time....see i had never heard of this show/movie till 1 week back. My wife had the whole season and movie in her collection and since i force her to sit through my genre of movies she said "i always watch what you watch..you have to watch firefly with me"....after listening to the premise, i was like "NO WAY!! it sucks"...

I agreed to watch just the first episode...finished 1st disc through the last disc consecutive days followed by the movie...

Awesomest show ever. It seems stupid they have so many crappy endless shows on tv and they cut this one short after 1 season .

I'm curious as well because Joss Whedon + western + spaceships was good enough for me.

western + spaceships don't interest me, which is why despite having it on my computer via netflix for about four months i've yet to watch one episode
