College Footbal Fanatics Guide
Here's a guide to how to get football info throughout the week
*College Football Live* (ESPN 3:30-4:00 EST Monday-Friday) repeated often on ESPNU -1/2 hour show that rotates the standard ESPN personalities of Trevor Maddix, Mark May, Lou Holtz, Bob Griese, Pat Forde, Ivan Maisel, Herbstreit, Corso, Robert Smith, Desomnd Howard, Jesse Palmer, etc *College Football Now* (NFL Network 6:00-6:30 EST Tuesday-Friday) repeated throughout the day -1/2 hour show featuring former UCLA coach Terry Donaghue and Charles Davis. Seems to be cross-promoted with rivals.com and will chat with many of the individual team site editors for 'inside' info *ESPNU Coaches' Spotlight* (ESPNU 12:00-4:00 EST Tuesday) -clips and analysis of coach press conferences featuring Todd McShay and Tom Luginbill--best bang per minute of programming *Full Court Press* (CSTV many hours on Tuesday) -CSTV's staff covers the coaches' press conferences...some repeat of ESPNU show, but different analysis *Crystal Ball* (CSTV 7:00-8:00 EST Wednesday) repeats often -CSTV's staff breaks down and predicts the outcomes for the upcoming weekend's games *College Football Gameday* (pre-games Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and sometimes Tuesday night on ESPN or ESPN2) -ESPN's lame studio produced show that contains mainly fluff stories and Holtz and/or Corso looking stupid |

Re: College Footbal Fanatics Guide
The Saturday morning Gameday's still pretty good if only because it gets you pumped for the games and Herbstreit and Fowler are on. The other ESPN shows (not including ESPNU here) have gotten pretty bad though. Corso and Holtz are both unwatchable, and I don't remember who they had doing College Football live with Reece Davis the other day, but whoever it was, he was absolutely terrible. It was so obvious he didn't know what he was talking about that I turned it off in disgust. Oh, and I can't stand Desmond Howard either.

And Mark May, who I think otherwise might have a bit of sense, just becomes stupid around Holtz, and then they feed off each other in ever downward spiraling blackhole of utter incompetence. It's like watching a drunken goat fight a chimpanzee with an extra chromosome. |

Re: College Footbal Fanatics Guide
the guy that has impressed me the most so far on ESPN has been former tO$U RB Robert Smith
Jesse Palmer, Former Florida QB, has been pretty good as well. Glad they've been talking to Feldmen, Maisel, and Forde the NFL network's show on Fridays is great when they bring in the guy who is the lead of the general college football page for rivals....he's great....Donoghue is pretty good, too, but it gets caught up in some of the pc ex-coach talk. |
