Yeah, sounds about right.

I still think *you* have to fold JJ though.

It's close but as I said earlier the fact that I thought you would fold QQ makes it enough for a push.

3. I'm just saying you will get a shove called by a lot worse than JJ here, even at the $114s, unless they've changed drastically in the last few weeks. Early table, weekend, there's always at least one or two aggro-gambler-jugheads. They will put ryan on a loose range trying to wall off UTG's chips. Not sure if you get called enough to be profitable, but you can't say only JJ calls a shove.

4. Yes of course.

I would never assume a QQ fold here, even in 2p2 vs. 2p2. Maybe my 2nd level thinking protects me.

I think where you can fold QQ to a 2p2er is when you haven't acted yet, so there is no way they can be making a play at you. Otherwise it might be worth it to just keep the same calling range you would have against an unknown--to prevent being exploited like this. Interesting concept.

Everything said after this is based under the assumption RGH is folding QQ.

I like a shove here, and as you position gets later I like the push more and more. Also as you position gets later I would push a wider range of hands.

I'm raising with AK.

Why? This is terrible and illogical play.

BTW, I love how I was correct in this whole thread about everything.

sykes is a d-bag, but i'd shove this one because i'd expect ryan to fold most hands he flat calls with here as long as he knows who you are. it doesnt make much sense to flat kk/aa for him although i guess it's possible.

A few random thoughts
1. I truly thought the only hands RGH would call a shove with were AA and KK.
2. In RGH's position I think I am calling or reraising 99+ AK+ and an argument can be made for 88 and AQ depending on the table. Keep in mind it's pretty easy to get rid of the hands at the bottom of the range if someone comes in behind.
3. Outside of AK everyhand for RGH is a call or fold. If you reraise QQ+ you drive out worse hands and if you reraise JJ- you only get action from better hands. Me having JJ is one of the only scenarios where a call ends up being bad.
4. Does everyone agree that qq is a call if an unknown is pushing.

[/ QUOTE ]

Great analysis in this thread, nice bump.

Also I agree with #4

This is probably one of the more interesting threads in STTF in a while so I figured I'd bump it. Looking back on it its pretty close I'm not sure if I like my JJ shove I def like RGH 's fold of QQ. I think if RGH 3bet cold with AK here it would be pretty awful.
