MY THANKS to anyone who can help me get an audio clip from a video on youtube as my ringtone. Also FYI, I am literally too dumb/old/lazy to download music onto my cpu. PM me if you're bored.

I'll assume this is public domain audio.

Download Audacity and the LAME MP3 encoder

Install Audacity first then follow the directions to install LAME.

Downloaded and drooling at what to do next (and needed sooner than later). How about $5 for someone to email something I can open up and edit so I can send to my phone some of the audio of the following clips: (1st 30 seconds)

Open up audacity. select "what you hear" from the dropdown menu. and push record. then play your youtube file. hit stop after it plays for as long as you want. then save it as .mp3.

You need to get the music onto your computer 1st then transfer to your phone

Right. See OP. I am an electronicstard. I tried to use Soundtap but it never acknowledged that it was recording.
