Poker life is unglamorous, but simple and gives a sense of freedom and control that other jobs probably wouldn't give. I've come to meet quite a few poker players now and I've found that the ones that don't sweat their hourly rate or w/e are the ones that do the best and are happiest.

Obviously, you have to figure this out on your own. I am currently on a leave of absense from my life as a "young professional" (engineering). I absolutely LOVE the lifestyle playing poker professionally has afforded me. That said, I did very well in school, I have 3 years experience, and I am leaving with a good relationship with the company I worked for. I am not burning any bridges.

i like this post most!

op you have a lot of more options:
1) you can work half day in a job what you like, even it is a social thing. the other half-day you play poker
2) you get a job what you like, and play poker besides
3) you play only poker

the only other thing is, you basically melt down after having a 2-buyin downswing.

now granted, you must be playing on a euro site that is really easy compared to FTP or PS, but it seems like if you have a real downswing, -10 buyin days, etc. you'll be a mess.
