playing the NFD v shorties in a MW pot
Absolute Poker

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($12, 6 players) Donger checks, BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets $10, MP2 folds, Button calls, Donger raises to $64? Is this best? I thought I had some FE by playing it this way. An argument could also be made for leading out small and hoping to trap some of the field before pushing. Which is best? Or am I missing some other ways to play this? |

Calling is best, your hand plays better with more opponents than less.
Raise if you honestly believe everyone will fold, call otherwise. |

Yeah, a call's best most of the time here. People hate folding straights and sets and there's a pretty decent chance button has a non-nut FD that you'd like to get paid by if you hit. I'd need a pretty specific read on MP1 to try to push him off of his hand here.

Re: playing the NFD v shorties in a MW pot
So there's no value in just trying to get it heads up and maybe spike a pair? I've witnessed a lot of these shorter stacks stacking off with stuff like bottom pair + a 2pr draw.
Is this totally the wrong way to approach the game? Are you guys always trying to generate calls behind you by worse flushdraws and stuff? If it had been HU, do you CR push this hand? |

Re: playing the NFD v shorties in a MW pot
So whats the plan when I call, then 1 player calls behind me, I whiff, and somebody pots the turn?
Also RE: getting in behind.. what about the times I pick up a $30 pot? That kind of helps finance the times I get in somewhat behind. |

I think you know the answer to that. ARRRRRRRINNNNNNNNNN |

Esp when you could have some fold equity and just pick it up right there? |
