Diablo,

Do you think that some combination of "brown" and "airport" probably means that people are less likely to see tings your way in this situation. I feel like I see the anti arab/indian/middle eastern aimed zenophobia gets super ramped up at the airport, but that's just a random obviously has nothing to do with me observation.

The problem I see with this situation is that it hinges on a large group of people who are sbout something other than themselves, and that's just really rare, especially when they're traveling. I don't think it's a fight worth fighting.

Alobar,

Isn't public opinion the driving force behind most of public actions? Wouldn't most people cut in line if other people wouldn't embarrass them for doing so?

Ideally, when you say something to the effect of "hey, people are waiting here, back of the line!", you're hoping to get some backup from the others in the line. "Yea!" "that guy's right!" "hey, don't cut in line man!"

Once he didn't get that reaction from the line, it's pretty awkward since it just seems like you're the only one caring.

So, i say kudos to you. The rest of the line that didn't back up you sucks.

The line might've supported him more if he didn't use the conflict to move up in the line.

I was surprised by his boldness. Even after me telling him three times to get to the back of the line, he kept trying to negotiate/convince me to let it go.

Sadly, it's probably this boldness that in part helps him be successful.

line-cutting rewards bold aggressive play

All,

I sort of regret going in front of him. At that point, I really thought that the woman who initially let him in and the dude in front of me would both be like "WTF!?!?" resulting in him having no choice and me not having to call for the line ladies like a little bitch. But instead, the woman let it go and the business dude was oblivious.

If I had a chance to do it over again, I think I would either at the end just say WTF, no, get to the back of the line OR do the same thing, except then invite people from the back of the line to cut in front of me.

I was surprised by his boldness. Even after me telling him three times to get to the back of the line, he kept trying to negotiate/convince me to let it go.

He owned you dude. BTW, this guy sounds like a total PUA, you are lucky you didn't end up giving him a BJ.

(ugh, read the rest of the thread and alobar killed my timing for this joke).

yeah i would probably say something. rather than accept his offer i would probably tell him to quit being a [censored] jerk and get to the back of the [censored] line. it probably wouldn't work because this guy sounds pretty shameless. but i would probably still make fun of his little headset all the way to the front of the line, and then when he was two spots away from getting a cab, tell the line lady to make him go all the way to the back.

How do people not say anything? A simple "Hey Chief, end of the line is back there" solves this 99% of the time.
