($27) AJs vs Luisgallo\'s UTG 8x BB shove
UTG is Luisgallo, regular poster on this forum and winning multitabler. Is he shoving wide enough for me to make this call?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver) SB (t3130) BB (t3585) UTG (t1185) Hero (t1090) CO (t2665) Button (t1845) Preflop: Hero is MP with A, J. UTG raises to t1185, Hero ???? |

Re: ($27) AJs vs Luisgallo\'s UTG 8x BB shove
If UTG is regular poster then he knows the blinds are fixing to eat about 20% of his stack and he will lose some serious fold equity. Therefore, he will shove with a very, very wide range of hands. AJs is about 62% to win against random hand so I would call and hope everyone else lets you be heads up.

Re: ($27) AJs vs Luisgallo\'s UTG 8x BB shove
what range does he need to be on for calling to be neutral? you some type of edge just because there are so many yet to act.

If I was on the BB I would probably call here seeing as how he is desparate. However with 4 people behind I think you have to lay this down here.

Re: ($27) AJs vs Luisgallo\'s UTG 8x BB shove
so let's estimate his range here. he is a winning multitabler so he knows the concepts:
my estimate would be: 77+, 98s+, A6s+, ATo+, KQ, 2 suited cards > T. So his range is wider than your holding. With a really large stack, I snap-call. With a medium stack I lay it down because there are better opportunities. With a small stack, you can certainly gamble but you are probably flipping coins in some way. I lay it down here. |

Re: ($27) AJs vs Luisgallo\'s UTG 8x BB shove
a winning multitabler is not shoving all sorts of [censored] utg here. calling with AJs would be super bad imo, especially with 4 people behind you.

Re: ($27) AJs vs Luisgallo\'s UTG 8x BB shove
if Luis is pushing 17% or so calling looks fine in sngwiz. 17% is like A7o A3s KTs 33. of course he would push QJs before A3s but sngwiz does not allow me substitue hands. i put the button and co on AQ TT overcall, sb on AQ AJs 88 overcall, and bb on AJ ATs 88 overcall. so calling is + .38% vs this range.
with luis on 14% and keeping the overcall ranges the same this becomes neutral for op to call. 14% = A8o A4s KJs 44. this is probably so close calling and folding are fine. i'd call becuase if you put some suited connectors into Luis' range the .38% should go up. |

I would fold, probably closer to a call in later position.
