Re: Shufflemaster question
Ah, that could be part of it. We don't pass the shuffle around, usually someone will deal for a while while someone else shuffles, or people will alternate deals and shuffle their own, etc. Those that do it are those comfortable handling cards and interested in keeping the game moving.

Re: Shufflemaster question
No, I realized that the Deckmate goes for 16K I was wondering if anyone has any cheaper alternatives. The issue not so much the time, as it is the hassle. I am a (former) professional dealer and I hand shuffled for years. Hitting 20-30 hands an hour for 7-8 hours can cause some wear and on the fingers. I also hate having active players doing the shuffling with an alternate deck (a bunch of drinkin’ at these games). I just wanted if know if anyone has seen one of these things second hand.

Re: Shufflemaster question
[ QUOTE ]
By the way in my home the problem with dealing is with all the donks that I invite to play. They complain about the plastic (Kem) cards. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I got that crap for awhile too. The donks would even groan if they were dealer. I don't get that. Is there that much pressure to dealing? The donk money is good though. It has bought materials to make two tables, buy chips and labels and maintain a small lil' bankroll to keep the habbit going. The reason the donks come to my games is cause they know they aren't playing your average kitchen table game. The cards are part of that and some are coming around and even buying some to keep with their dice chips. |

Re: Shufflemaster question
I've had my eye on this one for awhile.
ProShuffler Much more reasonably priced. I will probably hold out until I hear a couple of reviews on it. Also, they tentatively plan to make an in-table version next year. |

Re: Shufflemaster question
Wasn't there someone on this forum designing a competitively priced shuffler for home use a couple years back? Anyone remember that?
Edit: Found the post: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rue#Post4975665 The guy has disappeared off the forum, so I'd venture to say he was less than sucessful in his endevor to get his vision achieved. Or maybe... Shufflemaster got to him. *Dun Dun DUUUUUUUN* |

Re: Shufflemaster question
I haven't been able to find a review of this $80 shuffler. Looks like you would have to reload it several times and probably wouldn't be worth it.
