[ QUOTE ]
I have had more trouble with cheating and bad manners from under-21 players than over-21 players and therefore I no longer allow under-21 players at all. Besides, I live in Utah and it is illegal to go outside at night if you are under 21, so by limiting my games to the 21 and over crowd, I am less visible to the authorities.

[/ QUOTE ]

Thought the name sounded familiar. I recently joined the Utah group, but haven't attended any games yet (my wife is having a baby next week - from reading the messages I gather you are in a similar situation). Hope to start coming to some games after we have the baby.

I started working at my step-father's game when I was about 9. I was 14 the first time I won over $1k in a poker game.

i'm a teacher, and have been invited to numerous games by students.

one, in particular, supposedly has a buyin of $200.

i wipe the drool off myself, and politely say 'no thanks'..

hopefully they're still playing, and i bump into them in a few years..

I am a teacher as well, and I allow my son to play at the age of 16. He has been groomed by the game at Grand Mas house and knows what to do and what not to do. He's even pulled in a few tourney wins. The problem comes when my friends, who are also teachers in the same district and school as he attends, play. Before I allow my son to play in those games I get permission from them. The only one who has asked for him not to play was an administrator (vice principal). The other guys have been around since before we began playing and feel like family.

We have alcohol at our games, so no one under 21, regardless of whether they drink.
