but... it's a TV SHOW.

i'm pretty sure that when it comes to tv shows, the world does, in fact, revolve around making good tv.

So, whereas this program is a reality show where we get to see a real high stakes cash poker game, that is not what you want to watch. Obviously you would rather they write a script and hire actors to play the hands they set up, every action scripted and all cards scripted - so you get good entertainment.

Personally I would rather watch a real game and am fine with the realism.

People from the foundation are crying blood after they lost a potential 400k in one hand. Still, a gutsy move buy Guy and it probably would have worked if Doyle had just an ace with no draw.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think Doyle would have called with AK, not too sure on AT without the draw though.

What is Esfandiari doing there? In a previous show he folded JTs when there was a raise to 20k. In this episode he limpfolds T9s when there is a raise to 7k and two calls when the action returns to him. Awful tight play, is he trying to play tighter than Bob Stupak?

[/ QUOTE ]

NO .. he's modelling his play after galfond.

After that episode, I think that Jamie Gold is mildly retarded.

why didnīt jamie want to stop playing? guess he was sure he would never be able to play on this show again once he left?

[/ QUOTE ]

are you nuts!!! jamie is probably the best player (for the show) at the table. anyone that doesn't want a loose player at their poker table is questionable in my opinion.

"you lost the minimum on that one, jamie" = "thank you for calling a huge check-raise with a double gutter, turning the nuts, NOT betting it, then paying me off instantly when i make quads on the river".

you really think he should have folded his straight for 30k?

sheesh... i can understand that you play poker so weak.. but can't you think differently?

Jamie Gold is just a LAG degenerate, I'm sure if he tightened up he wouldn't be that bad a player.

lol @ PA and Farha's exchange, soooo funny.

"What overs?"

"I can't tell you it's a surprise"

"No no no".

I also laughed in the hand between Gold and Degen when Gold had 8 high on the river and degen said something like "Well I had one you could beat" with 9 high after folding, and then Gold shows his bluff. "Oh, I didn't".

llolllo

How good would it have been if they couldn't run it twice.

If Farha hit his flush and then Patrick river the boat for 1m, casual viewers at home would freak and would right now be telling their friends about it at work.

Instead they prob don't even know what happened.

Also, when deciding how many times to run it, why do most the players always defer to the person (they think) is behind? They must understand it has the same effect on both players, is it just a custom type thing?

Finally, Jamie's play was horrid (esp but not only in the JT hand), Antonius is a pimp and I was v surprised Guy didn't raise the QQQ hand vs. Farha.

[/ QUOTE ]

it would have been very interesting if there was no running it twice. jamie gold would have already taken most of Antonius's money and then the PA / SF hand wouldn't have been nearly as interesting. as it stood. PA got to be in two huge pots instead of just one that he lost.
