Default Sleeping on flights

I used to be able to sleep on airplanes, but I lost the ability somewhere around 20. For some reason, I just can't fall asleep when semi-upright, no matter how tired I am, nor how much I try. I've got a long overnight Hawaii -> Boston trip coming up, for which I very much want to be sharp and alert when I arrive. I would be interested in hearing from people who have had the same problem, or any advice people have about falling asleep in this situation.

Proper head support is a must. Bring your own pillow. Go to a store and test some out.

Either that or drugs.

I have no problem falling asleep anywhere, but while semi-upright/upright, I find that head/neck support is essential. I fall asleep much easier when I use those neck-pillows (the ones that look like innertubes that you wear around your neck).

2 Xanax and 10 Bud Heavies at the airport bar prior to takeoff ftw.

Problem solved. They'll have to physically wake you up when the plane lands. Not sure how sharp you'll be though.

If I'm struggling with sleeping upright I will try this out of desperation, but it always ends up very uncomfortable.

Lol. Have you ever been on an airplane before? Based on your post, you are either a balla who flies first class or a midget.

Edit: Also, I can only get to sleep on a plane/car with the help of drugs.
