Going to Barcelona 2/23 to 2/26 - Can I play Live and if so Where

Hey. First of all thanks to everyone who helped me when I posted about Poker in Italy/Europe about a month ago.

Im going to be in Barcelona this weekend from Friday-Monday with some friends from school here in Italy, and although its not the focus of my trip at all, I was wondering where to play.

I did some reading and Casino Barcelona I think has some 20-40 and 30-60 limit holdem and some 5-10 plomaha.

Does anyone have recommendations on where to play live. I would prefer 5-10nlor 10-20nl but will play limit if thats all thats offered (ive played some 20-40 before but sparingly.)

Any advice on where to play, if its good, etc would be great. Thanks all.

Grand Casino de Barcelona is the only place to play poker. It spreads daily 20/40 LHE (in euros). They also have a PLO game going (5/10 euro blinds, no max buy-in). Normally they only have these games going, but they will open other tables upon demand. So just write your name on the white board in the poker room under a particular game (you can write down any game you like there), and maybe other people will be interested too.

The 20/40 LHE is very easy to beat.

poker in europe is very hard to beat cuz they rake like 10% no max or something ludicrous in casinos

Casino in Barca is no good. Spread few games, low rotation. Bad food.

I read that the rake is Super High. Is it even worth playing the 20-40 limit if Im not that good at limit.

If I asked for 5-10NL I do you think I might get some interest and would they just be like ching! we get 10% of pots or what.

Ive been there once and they did'nt have any NL-tables, from what ive heard they practically never do.
But i played some really juicy 5-10 PLHE, and even though the rake was huge, the game was a gold mine against those players.
Also the PLO is supposedly very good, but i suck at it big time, so no real experiences from that.

I was there about a year ago for a couple of weeks. There was no NLHE. There was something like one game of 5-10 PLO and one game of 5-10 LHE on the night that I actually dropped by the casino. I called on other nights, but there was never a NLHE game going.

Im studying here htis semester and have played the 20-40 3 times and the 5-10 plo once. the game selection sucks (at most, 3 tables, 2plo) the list gets long and its full ring. And wdead is right on about the HUGE rake. Def not worth it. Euro BJ there is fun, im up 1300€ on it, the dealer takes his 2nd card last which is an interesting twist. Have yet to find a live NL game but if anyone else knows of a mid stakes game, please pm. OP, if you need any good suggestions on stuff pm me. Im here for study abroad and have some good hookups here for clubs and bars so holla.
