the villain is a solid, thinking, winning regular. I'm fairly certain he knows that I know him and that he knows that I do not suck, but I have not played a ton with him.

I generally bet the flop, I took a passive route bc it seemed right at the time vs him. regardless, can i raise the the river? how much? fold to a shove? i had a hard time putting him on a hand that beat me and a hard time figuring out how many hands that i beat are calling raises. What say you, STTF?

Can he open complete a weak ace there preflop? If you think he does that often enough I think you can raise to 300 and be about 90% sure you are beat if he shoves. If you don't think he open completes Ace-rag very often then I think his range is too much broken draw/weird 2pr that beats you or KT or something that could fold anyway.

I would say flat the river, a solid thinking winning reg shouldnt be paying off many hands that beat bottom two when the straight draw got there, and he didnt bet pf or the flop.

It is hard to put him on a hand you are behind to, but I think the main thing is that since he wont pay us often here, its more important to not lose chips on the hands where we are behind

well yeah, i was more asking to promote discussion because im still torn on the river. I'd never call a shove when I raise the river here.

I will say this, villains holding was what made me most intrigued to find out how others wouldve approached it and/or how close it is.

But I think its pretty damn thin and I think raising the river is probably a small mistake in SNGs

after talking to a few ppl about it i may feel pretty strongly about a minraise or making it 2.5x. the way this hand played out is really weird in him putting me on Ax hands or too many real powerful hands, so i think any hand he leads twice with will call at least a minraise on the river. if hes bluff shoving, congratu-[censored]-lations, not really a factor here as i dont expect it to happen much and dont have a tough decision when it does.

bc of my issues assigning and weighting ranges given the way it played out im not convinced it has to be always and only a call yet. waiting on what everyone else has to say as well.
