Yeah, poker chip seems pretty harmless. Easy to hand out, great symbol of poker.

You could do a custom deck of cards with a similar message like "Poker Players Vote" on the back. Bill Frist as the queen of spades (she's the b!tch, when playing hearts, right?).

Chips would be a lot cheaper to mass produce though, no?

Post your ideas for a chip design. If you can post images, that would help, too. Here are some of my ideas:

Ceramic textured chips in all cases.

1. Start with a black background. PPA logo on one side encircled by the website address, http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org and "Poker Players Vote!" on the edge spots. On the back, "UIGEA" in flame text curved above 10.13.06 in the middle and "America's Game" on the bottom.

2. Start with a flame background on one side and black on the reverse, with the PPA logo encircled by "Keep it Legal" in thirds. Edgespots with "America's Game" and/or the website http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org . The flame background will have "UIGEA" in black with October 13, 2006 in the middle and "Prohibition Will Fail" under.

3. Start with a US Flag motif on one side and a faded black on the other. Same text as 1.

Do you get the gist of what I am trying to convey? Any comments?

Or you could add one with an apple pie as a background.

Good idea.

Maybe fantasy baseball and horse racing images, too?

A big thank you to Grasshopp3r for leading this effort so far. He wrote John and Grasshopp3r ask me to follow up. He also gave me the chip maker contacts. I followed up and had a great conversation, and even learned a lot about chip making and the vaious issues involved.

I think we have at least manufacturer willing to help in the fight for poker in all aspects. From a little checking if he's making a profit it's damn slim from what he quoted me. He had some great ideas for other ways to make an impact and offered to help with contacts in other fields.

Grasshopp3r a HOME RUN IMPO!!!

Give it up for him,

D$D

Maybe a good title/theme for the day's focus should be a paraphrase of Barney Frank's description of the UIGEA - The Dumbest Law Ever.

And maybe create a supporting manifesto as to all the reasons that is so.

For example, the regs will probably not be out by then. We can argue that the reason they are delayed is because it is nearly impossible to write working, practical guidelines for this law because it is so very flawed - The Dumbest Law Ever.
