(5.50) Bubble on the button with pocket 77
BB is a donk. However, I had been short-stack for a while and stole quite a few of his blinds without him calling. The 3 of us short-stacks are pretty even depending on where the blinds are.
PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t400 with t25 antes (4 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com CO (t1675) Hero (t1890) SB (t7960) BB (t1975) Preflop: Hero is in Button with 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] CO folds, Hero???? Do I push this? Fold it as he is now short stack? |

You have to win hands in your situation. Easy push.

Re: (5.50) Bubble on the button with pocket 77
It looks like it is +EV from what I saw with any range. So, appears to be a no brainer to push.
With 10% calling ranges, everything is +EV here from what I calculated. However, since I have pushed a number of times, should I be adjusting that to 20%? Sorry if a dumb/unclear question. |

With both players left to act at 20% it's still an easy push. You are a shorty with a hand that's almost guaranteed to be favourite. Stu |

Re: (5.50) Bubble on the button with pocket 77
Sorry. I meant that given my stack sizes, it is a push for me with ATC when on the button. IT is +EV using 10% calling ranges for ATC (I've just started experimenting with SngEgt). However, I have been pushing probably 4 out of 5 last hands when on the button. Given that, should I be adjusting the calling ranges up as someone may be more inclined to call me now? If so, 77 is still positive regardless. However, hands such as 84o which are still +EV at 10% are then negative.

Re: (5.50) Bubble on the button with pocket 77
mr,
this is a very easy push. you should: 1) learn to work this stuff out by hand 2) consider buying a tool eventually to help you do the calculations quickly for #1: look up ICM, look at the calculator. look for something like pokerstove. assign opponents hand ranges. if ICM value (expected chips post moving all in) > ICM value (chips after you fold), you go all in, otherwise, you fold. expected chips post moving all in is something that looks like (probability they both fold)(chips if they both fold) + (prob they call)(prob you win if they call)(chips you have if you win) c |
