Re: Tmrw morning....
just as an FYI - MSNBC is also showing their on-air coverage from 9/11/01 with the then Today Show crew (i.e. Katie Couric, Al Roker, et al.)

[/ QUOTE ] I am watching this right now at work on MSNBC... it's really very difficult to watch this again. Just the shots of the towers, the smoke billowing over Lower Manhattan... but I can't change the channel. This is very surreal. -Al |

Re: Tmrw morning....
I may watch if they do it like 20 years from now, but I still have a pretty good recollection of what happened that morning

Also watching this broadcast is not just about remembering the details of 9/11. Depending on how closely you connected with this event, it's fairly emotional watching this. MSNBC's real-time coverage of 9/11 is actually pretty good. -Al |

Re: Tmrw morning....
for some reason i don't get emotional in the least when hearing about/watching 9/11 stuff. obviously i didn't lose anyone and that plays a large part, but in general i'm no more upset about 9/11 than pearl harbor.

Re: Tmrw morning....
When I click the link nothing happens, it just reloads the same 'Launch CNN pipeline now'
Anybody know a solution? |

Re: Tmrw morning....
I don't live in NY, nor have I lost anyone, or know of anyone who lost anyone on that day.
But I am listening to the msnbc rebroadcast, and it's very hard not to get emotional about it. I'm actually suprised how much it's affecting me today. |

Re: Tmrw morning....
Daryn - I used to live in Tribeca for 3.5 years, couple blocks from WTC. I moved to SF like 3 months before 9/11 went down. So just from a "holy [censored] that is my old neighborhood" perspective, I guess I felt pretty connected to the event. And I had a bunch of friends who worked in WTC at the time also.
I was in SF when this went down... and only the people who used to live in Manhattan, or had close family / friends there, felt very emotional about it. Most other people were kind of like "whoah that is f'ed up", but got over it relatively quickly. -Al |

Re: Tmrw morning....
No thanks.
Since 9/11 gave me flashbacks to another horrible event I went through, I see no reason to revisit either situation. I can talk about them, and whatever...but reliving gruesome experiences is not my idea of a good use of my time. |
