Beat: first time online
I was thinking back to the first time i ever played poker and remembered how ridicusly bad I was.
It was 5 years ago and I had only ever seen late night poker on tv. I deposited £100 ($200ish), bought straight into a 2/4nl full ring table(beat) and posted OOP(beat) I got delt some stupid hand like 34 or 23 with one heart and flop came 3 hearts. some guy bet and i called(beat) and the Ace of hearts came out. ZOMG we all the have nut flush!! He bet and I pushed excited bout this awesome chop on my first hand and he called with king of hearts. ship the monies over to him and i dont play for another 2 months. tl:dr anyone else do anything stoopid like this?? |

Re: Beat: first time online
Deposited 20€ (30$ish) on titan a year ago and started playing nanominbet since I was an advanced player and knew about br management. I also read somewere that you have to play tight so I played like 70/0 and were proud about it. 70<<<<100

Re: Beat: first time online
I deposited $40 on paradise, lost it all. Then I deposited $100 on Absolute and broke even for a while. Then I deposited $50 on Party, 2 tabled the 25NL FR, started winning and felt like god.
My playing style back then: limp in with every hand except with Aces, because you gotta raise them like 3 times teh blind. Also, when someone raises and you don't have the nuts, you gotta fold. Also, check when you flop quads so you can win a $0.95 pot. Oh yeah, I was the king of the minraise and the slowplay! I'm still puzzeled how I was able to build a bankroll back then. |

Re: Beat: first time online
Deposited $100 on ongame, played 50pl omaha, first hand I got dealt was TTTA (no idea how to play this game, I thought you could use all your cards, so I made a potbet, other guy raises me I pot it, he goes allin). I call and I actually won the pot (didn't pay attention why, but I thought it was because I had 3 tens in my hand). So I thought lol this game is easy, until I found out that you couldn't use 3 or 4 cards, and the flush I had was in fact ace high. After that I started grinding at 10nl texas, and I've been doing okish I guess.

Re: Beat: first time online
deposited 50$ on party, cleared the 25$ and a friend who received 50$ for referring me transfered it back to start my roll so 125$ roll quite fast. Played 0.5/1$ for a while at the beginners table and took a shot at 1/2$ and figured that people with 100$ on table had to be pros.. i was quite impressed and moved back to .5/1

Re: Beat: first time online
Deposited $50 on Party... ran like God for a day 2-tabling 25NL no limit, made it up to $400 and decided this was an opportune time to play $2/4. Nope. Rinse, lather, repeat. The third time around, I deposited $200, and didn't up the stakes. That worked surprisingly OK.
Then I discovered the 12:20 Party 7stud tournament, and final tabled it ~twice/week and haven't look back. Then Party stopped letting in US players. Mega-Beat. |

Re: Beat: first time online
Deposited $100 on Party. Within a week I had 1.2K playing 100NL. Lost it all in a 30 minute span 3 tabling 200NL.
