The thing is, I give the Bush administration more credit than that. I'm not saying they're not evil, killing, raping, bastards. I am saying that they aren't stupid. There is money being made here, and it's the greatest con on the rest of the world. Why would we continue this ridiculous wasteful spending otherwise? Why would the democrats continue to support it? It HAS to be benefiting us, but under the table, and underreported. As far as continually asking for more tax money, it is probably worth pumping as much money possible into it, if we're getting the results we want. Divide and conquer ftw.

There are no benefits to this war, at all. They trade with all the freedom loving, rich, non-muslim countries of the west. They even trade with us, even though they hate us. There is no reason to go to war for oil, and besides with all the new technologies, they would rather sell us oil now, than have solar/wind/nuclear come into fashion, and be stuck with all this useless oil.
I can't see how we can ever make up the the trillions of dollars, and thousands of lives this war has cost us.

First Afghanistan's natural gas pipeline, then Iraq's oil, next Iran's oil ? How long before Venezuela starts becoming a millitary powerhouse threatnening the US *LAUGHS* and must be invaded for their oil sands which is even greater by just a bit than Alberta's oil sands.

It's not some conglomerate of people and companies. When Ike uttered this phrase, he was using it in the *psychological* sense. That politicians should avoid developing such a MENTAL DISORDER. It seems his warnings have gone unheeded, as the (corporate) welfare-warfare state continues to grow, and grow, and grow.
