Can someone please verify that the last post I made was a correct statement. If it isn't I may just pack up and go to the mental institution.

DId you read the post that was linked? This includes times when we make a set and lose etc...

re calling for set odds - the point is that most good players are opening such a wide range that you dont have the implied odds necessary to call for purely set value as you wont be taking there stack often enough even if you do flop a set.

that said, I think folding 77 there is really on the nitty side, I dont mind calling and playing poker but if you arent comfortable postlop and oop then I guess there could be a case for pitching it.

I completely understand what you are saying, but my numbers are correct regarding the amount of money you would need to make if you were calling only for set value, right(sorry about deviating from the topic)? 7.5-1 = 157.5-1

check raising the river is terrible. i think these levels are where you start to play mid pocket pairs for more than just set value.

I see. I'm not calculating the times when I lose after hitting a set. Thanks

is calling profitable??

RR or fold is probably better IMO.

You really should think things over before you post. Jesus!

I like the hand but why do you post it in the small stakes forum??

I think villain mostly has a big pair like KK,AA,QQ or a monster.

I sometimes check these flops myself with big pairs to keep the pot smaller, specially if villain calls with a wide range and could very vell have an 8.

There really are no scare cards and you let you opponent the chance to catch up a little or bluff and you hand is well concealed.

If he had overs i believe he would reraise turn or bet flop.

River sure looks like a valuebet.

He has AJ. Checks behind what is often the best hand on the flop, thinks you are bluffing enough to show it down on the turn, and makes a value bet on the river.

Wow the first page of this thread is filled with retardedness. Fold preflop?

WTF

I 3bet PF, but calling is totally cool too if BB is ever calling loose.

Absolutely call river.
