This sucks so bad.
Who would have thought that Yankees would have made the playoffs this season before the Mets. I wrote the Yankees post season chances off before Memorial day weekend. I guess they have the last laugh. The Mets had a 7 game lead 2 weeks ago. Now it has shrank to 1 game with 4 to play. Wow...just wow. Pedro to the rescue tonight.

It helps if you long ago abandoned any hope of being a serious contender, like I have.
Honestly, even when I was assuming that they would win the division, I never felt good about our post-season chances. And for me, there's little difference between making the playoffs and being eliminated in the first round (though we do have the historical angle to think about, I suppose).

you guys are all looking at this the wrong way. i think its pretty clear theyre using last years cardinals formula for success by finishing the year poorly and letting the #2 team in the division get some hope. but in the end that hope will result in nothing, and then the mets will surprisingly win the world series with some fantastic post season play. its a brilliant plan. really.

It's my opinion that what the mets are putting us through is exactly what V was putting Evey through in V for Vendetta. You know, locking her up, making her abandon all hope so she could finally look in the face of death and be unafraid. We are there now. We have blown 4 and 5 run leads to the Marlins and Nationals. We're ready.
