Default How have your political views changed due to the politics forum?

Hmkpoker mentioned that he thought most ACists on the politics forum were not ACists before joining. I thought it would be interesting to find out...

For the person who's "something else", what is that something? Just curious

"I was a liberal and now I'm a minarchist"

I previously considered myself both and still do. I'm interested in liberal ideals, but I'm not interested in government force. I'd rather people choose themselves to implement different liberal ideas as a social construct not as law.

Hard to define myself there. Social liberal, economic conservative, but defender of welfare. I have been moved a little towards minarchy, though I was already moving that way. It's less about proposed market solutions always being better, for which I am generally unconvinced (eg: justice), than it is government's ability to exacerbate matters (eg: some monopolistic regulations).

If anything, this forum has made me think more openly about politics. It certainly hasn't changed my stances on anything of substance tho.

The threshold of indifference for any Poll is approximately 4 or 5 choices. Beyond that, interest quickly disappears and the Poll loses its appeal whether it's 10 or 20 choices.

Just my two cents.
