3 street bluff that seemed mandatory 5/10
No history with villain. He seems tagish and may be a regular in this game (I`m not). On the river it is obvious he has TP or an overpair. Problem is he probably expects me to follow through with my whole range a decent amount. Anybody gives up on this somewhere?

Why you prefer to 3bet preflop?

Re: 3 street bluff that seemed mandatory 5/10
If you think top pair or better are likely I don't think I will follow through on the river. Most of the time I assume he calls the turn with the intention of calling the river as well.
(Also you should remember that villain can see your hole cards and will call you with AK/22.) |

Re: 3 street bluff that seemed mandatory 5/10
i think if you are planning on 3barreling this, you should bet more on the turn. I don't think your 2/3rd pot bet is carrying much weight here, considering that if you had AA/set/flush u'd probably bet more like 270.

Re: 3 street bluff that seemed mandatory 5/10
this river card is effectively a blank so i can't see him folding anything he called the turn with, seems like he's been playing for pot control from the start and you're exactly the kind of aggro monkey this line is designed for

3 bet pf. give up on turn as played. [/ QUOTE ] This deep, oop, against an UTG raiser, i don't think you have to 3bet. As played - hard to comment w/o more reads/history. But if he's a reg who's can fold QQ then I like this river bet - as villain never (or very rarely) has a big hand here. |

Re: 3 street bluff that seemed mandatory 5/10
Sorry, thought u were in the blinds. That said, if we want to get into a PF discussion - you'd really rather 3-bet AQ oop? I don't think you have to 3bet this deep in either situation (at least not all the time)... but if I was going to 3bet a hand that could easily be dominated, I think i'd much rather be in position.

[/ QUOTE ] Thing is that if I 3-bet I have a much easier time dumping this in case villain 4-bets if I`m oop. I would still fold if I get 4-bet ip but would hate myself for having reraised in the first place. When the pot gets bigger preflop our positional advantage declines. |
