Well, then I guess this is something personal between ATos and me...Still, there are LOTS of hands I would raise here with due to position, ATos is just (mostly) not one of it.

I think the blinds must have been nitty too, which is a prerequisite for this hand to be a raising hand from the HJ.

Even better, I was in the cutoff!

Anyway, the villain turned over J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] for the flopped MP. I wasn't sure if I played this hand badly or if I made a good read. Given the read of the villain insta-ck raising, I think the better play would have been to bet the turn.

I say this because in PNL they talk about the levels of play where the first is that the Hero thinks that the villain has nothing and decides to play his overcards. The second level is "I'm getting good odds (4 to 1 here w/ a gutter and 2 overcards) and will try to draw out." The third/ highest level being that you recognize that the villain is making a move and you make a move to push them off the pot on the flop or the turn.

I think my play was somewhere between 2 and 3, but probably closer toward 2. I need to improve.

I don't think a fold preflop is very good here. You are sitting in the CO with a reasonable hand. You could limp it in, but don't fold it.

I think you should bet the turn as you probably have some fold equity here even though he c/r you on the flop. If does it again on the turn you can easily fold.
