Sorta ethical type situation... Exposed card that only you know PF.
Ok.. so this hand is from today's $2k tourney at Bellagio. Second level of the tourney (4k starting chips).. I have about 6800 and villain in this hand covers me by a few hundo.
50/1 blinds.. UTG limps, everyone then joins him, hijack folds, I'm CO and limp, and button makes it 1100 total. Pot is 1850 and it's 1000 for me to call. Before he makes his raise, and as he looks at his hand, I unintentionally notice that he holds the 5d because he didn't cover his hand well enough. I'm the only one that sees this (I'm seat 4 and he's seat 5). Everyone then proceeds to fold to me.. What would you do? There's quite a few options from folding PF, to calling PF then figuring out his range knowing he has the 5d, and playing postflop. Or would you just shove PF to try and get him to fold? Does your hand matter at this point, or ever? I had 43s in this exact hand, if that changes anything. Would you take advantage of the fact that you know his hand and could manipulate it someway to win this pot? Would you tell him that you saw his hand before/after you acted on your hand? |

Its his responsibility to protect his cards when he's viewing them.
Just play the hand out... if knowing he has the 5d gives you an advantage than take it. |

As much as knowing one of his hole cards can help, it can also harm that much. If a five comes up, you'll assume he has trips. Shove now.

Re: Sorta ethical type situation... Exposed card that only you know PF
even if you ignore the ethical aspect of it, this actually becomes a pretty interesting question. initially I was 100% in support of calling because most of the time you get to pick off his cbet too, but you would only have twice the pot on the flop, which means if he pots it you can only minraise him and he might call on a scary board w/ 55 which would be pretty disastrous. I think a shove preflop is probably best since he will fold 99% of the time, but if you were a few thousand deeper I'd probably rather call.

Re: Sorta ethical type situation... Exposed card that only you know PF
this is definitely interesting, and i'm with funkii for the most part, except that if this player is good i imagine he has 55 far far far less often than a total steal. i also think he would pot it on the flop not too often. that being said i like a call more than a shove pf because i think you win more chips long term when he bluffs flop. i also don't think it's too unethical that you know his card, it's not like you intentionally are trying to see what he has(at least that's what i gathered from your post) and it is his mistake.
