NL10: 2 hands vs a drooler

Hello uNL. I'm doing my own little version of aba20's 1k to 100k thingy, but on a smaller scale. I'll be around here for a while.

Villain is 75/50/6 or so, does random crazy crap, very unpredictable but very bad and will stack off light. I've seen him put in the 6th minreraise preflop with A8o.

let's see, I have about 6 posts and you have 3000+, and I expect the experience ratio isn't even that close...

so this is to test ME, right?

both hands, I'm checking and calling a reasonable bet (which will be likely). We're probably ahead, but I'm not eager to give him a chance to make a big raise that gives me a decision to make.

I think I check behind on the turn in hand 1, re-evaluate on the river.

Hand 2 bet more on the turn, push the river

because he'll fold with nothing, and we lose future streets of value, OR he'll call with that nightmare hand and we lose our stack -- there's no upside.

This makes no sense. This guy is playing and raising with most of his hands. Going passive with anything worse than a set is a really good way to get run over. Your 2 pair will be good a huge % of the time against someone like this.

yes, I'm still learning how to handle them. But just because he's 70% before the flop doesn't mean he'll call every bet after. Many players like this are very good at letting go when they're beaten, but getting you to hang yourself when they've got an "unlikely" monster -- which they have way more often than you or me.

They live by that loose image. I've seen people spend a lot of money trying to play sheriff against them.

advice to raise more when you're ahead seems good. I misread Iship2u -- raising more FLOP is good.

Hand 1 - Make it 3.5x or 4x PF. I love the flop action (of course). I check the turn, keeps the pot small when we are behind, and picks up tremendous value from this player on the river.

Hand 2 - C/C river for value.

Im betting the turn in hand 1. If he calls check behind on the river. If you check here you pretty much have to call a river bet on a blank river, so why not bet here instead for near the same out and get more value when you are ahead and still have some equity when you are behind. Protects against the FD too.

Hand 2- Im gonna block here I think. Lead for like 1/2 potish, maybe he folds a flush once in a while, you will have the best hand once in a while. Keeps the pot smaller IMO.
