2/4 Party 6M - Might be incredibly standard... river decision.
Table has been weird since players keep on coming in and out so please note that we're only playing 3 handed at this point. I've been more active as the table shrinks and Villain seems to have noted this since he's playing more pots with me. His stats are 26/9/2.34 with mine being 23/14/3.3. Since he seems to be giving me not much credit, would an overbet be a better solution than some sort of smallish raise on the river? His river lead confused me as I figured it was some sort of block bet, but with what?

Looks ok. I guess a flat call is pretty weak as 9J is a very likely hand for villan to have. Of course he could have a set, but this looks like a blocking bet that doesnt want to call a big raise.

[/ QUOTE ] SB started the hand with $386 so only has $226 left when its hero's turn to act on the river. At that point the pot is 255 so its not that out of line of a raise. Its biggish I agree, but if you put like 120 on top what are you doing if SB pushes and its only another 130 to you. If SB had him covered I think a smaller raise might be in order. |

I don't like such a huge raise... as I have a hard time thinking many worse hands are calling.
I only raise river to 200. |

oh yeah, bet bigger on turn. river overbet is silly, what worse hand calls you? I can't think of any. don't expect to get called with a weird hand trying to snap a bluff until you get to higher stakes and people start going bananas. keep it simple stupid here.

I think you need to pot the turn, which makes it easier to get all of the money in on the river. BTW I think this river raise is fine. If he's planning to call 200, he is probably gonna call 285 (all his chips) as well. Plus its 4 handed, so he might get paid off by a lower 2 pair.
