Default TPNK - can I call this river?

2/4 NLHE, 5-handed Effective stacks: $320.

Preflop: folds to button who bets $14. I call in SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. BB folds.
Flop (Pot $32, 2 players): 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
I check, villain bets $20, I call.

Turn (Pot $72, 2 players): 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
check, check

River (Pot $72, 2 players): 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
I check, Villain pots, I ...

Thoughts/Comments on all streets appreciated.

Reads/rationale: villain is taggish preflop and could have a wide range when opening on the button. So, I call preflop. On the flop, there's a good chance I have the best hand, and decide to check/call to keep the pot small. I don't like leading into the raiser with medium strength hands in situations like this since I am put in an uncomfortable spot if raised. I check on the turn for pot control and when villain checks behind I feel there's a good chance I'm ahead. Betting for value on the river seems too thin since villain's range likely includes many hands that missed this board completely. So, I figure to get more value by checking to induce a bluff.

Next time, fold pre.

As per river, it's an EZ call. Raising is way too thin. And you're far from repping an ace. He probably rivered the 7 or has 88-KK. In other words, if you raise and he calls, you're beat. If you raise and he folds, you were beating him. If you call, expect to win 75% of the time. And since you're getting 2-1, you're more than fine.

I would blockbet the river here. If he raises you fold.
Depends on the aggro of the player.
