Default Help, Computer Newbie --> New Screen

Hi everyone

I have just bought a 22 inch Acer AL2216W LCD. I have plugged it into my laptop, and want to use it as my laptop screen. However, im having a little trouble understanding the instructions....i basically have no idea what to do.

I bought the screen primarily so i could play more tables of poker. Currently, i have plugged the screen into my laptop, and are using the screen as my laptop screen. However, when i close the laptop, the screen also turns off (the screen goes blank). Is there someway i can have it so that i can have the screen hooked up to my laptop, and i can have the laptop on, but closed, and just have the display on my new screen.

Also, when i went into pokerstars i tried to tile the tables but nothing happened --> i assume this has something to do with the resolution of my screen. What do i do to fix this?

If it is any help, my laptop is a one month old compaq presario.

Any help would be great, cause im really stuck.
Thanks
Tim
