Party Stole $200 From Me Yesterday

I opened my account this morning and saw I was $200 low. I checked the transaction history and it said that on 8/18 at 1:04pm ET I was charged $200 for a "Gift Certificate bought."

Anyone else ever have anything like this happen? I already sent emails to accountinfo, cashier and bonus departments at Party.

Any other ideas?

You probably promised some guy on the internet $200 a long time ago, and when you didn't deliver he decided to hack your account and steal it. Standard really....

On a serious not, call party and make sure they get you your money back. I'd also suggest getting a firewall and changing all your passwords.

So, somehow a $200 gift certificate was ordered from your account. The conclusion you come up with is that a company that makes millions a day decided to conspire against you and steal $200 from your account?

I called PayPro, as someone suggested, to find out what happened. Basically, it looks like someone hacked into my account and bought themselves a $200 gift certificate and then promptly lost the money. I'm really lucky, in some respects, that the rest of the $7K balance I had was still intact.

Party Poker was able to give me the IP address and name of the account that purchased the gift certificate as well as the name of the account that used the gift certificate. They were also able to narrow down the location of the two accounts.

If anyone has ever played with:

"Tdogg1175" or "Crazy8s911"

those are the two hackers/thieves. They live in Winston-Salem and/or Greenborough, North Carolina.

Party Poker told me there was nothing they can do (other than freeze the accounts and transfer the first $200 of any future deposits to me) because the money was gone. Frankly, I find this ridiculous. There is nothing they *will* do, not nothing they *can* do.

For my part, I'm not sure what I should do. I just cashed out my full balance and am thinking about changing sites. But the games at Party are the best and I don't want to turn down the earn.

I thought Party had a policy of not releasing such info about hackers.

I didn't know of that policy. In any case, I was yelling at the guy on the phone for 45 minutes before he gave it to me.

did you find out how you got hacked? upgrade your antivirus, use a software AND hardware firewall. Download all the anti-ad spam stuff and then finally stop downloading barnyard porn.
