AUGUST: Goals, Challenges, Expectations

Very simple: play solid poker and forget June and July ever happened---slowly but surely lost 20 buy ins...yikes...

New and revised goals -- layoffs are a beautiful thing...

Today I officially become a full-time poker player (I'm still being paid by my former employer for a significant amount of time, so I won't even think about calling myself a professional).

It will take me quite some time to hone my goals, but here are a few to start with.

-Start being very active in SSNL forum. Thoughtfully reply to 10 posts a day, and post 1 interesting hand per day.
-Play 2500 hands per day minimum (6-tabling at the moment, working up to 8-tabling)
-Re-read NLHTAP very closely. Re-read HOH 1&2. Read/work through HOH 3.
-Finish out the last couple hundred I need at $50NL at >6bb/100 to reach a full $100NL roll.
-Very simply, do not have to return to $50NL ever. My floor to return to $50NL is $1,500 (back up to $100NL at $2,000). I've had to revert to $50NL twice now and I don't want to do it again.
-Play very solid TAG in full ring games.
-Try out 6-max and learn the form.
-Take more breaks.
-Win some Stars FPP SNGs (the 1500-point ones that pay $215 tourney $). Use tournament $ to enter cash SNGs/small MTTs to build roll with no downside risk.

Non-poker related:
-Continue good eating habits (lost 22 lbs. so far, aiming for 10 more).
-Walk dog at least 1 hour per day.
-Watch classic movies/read books for relaxation instead of mindless reality tv.

Goal: Stop losing money.

Play 6 tables for good.
Play 200nl for good.

Be a MSNL baller.

I'm changing all my goals. Here are my new ones:

- Play in at least 1 FTOPS event.

I'd really like to play in 3 (NLHE, 6-max NLHE and the ME), but we'll see about that.

-40k hands
-Move up to NL400 by the end of the month.
-Improve my ability to control tilt and recognize when I should not be playing.
-Post in MSNL a lot more.
-Read more strategy and less BBV.

- Stop being so weak/tight postflop (completely unaddressed last month)
- TEAR UP VEGAS 7-12; make $$$ at various $1/$2 games around town
- Play 25k hands online
- Make $3k
- I have no idea how I'm gonna get there - it may involve skipping $100 entirely, even - but, by the end of August, I WILL be at $1/$2.

Hope to:
Make it to 200NL by end of month

Write 10,000 new words for SSNL.
Finish all my Fundamentals and Core chapters.
Rewrite my Mistakes hands to Ed's specs.
Get Preflop off to a big start.


Challenges:

Second-edit older chapters.
Do my share of the editing.
Make those Core chapters sing.
