I think I fold. Because I don't see anyone ever 4xing and folding to a shove.

i think the 4x bb is scary bc i read on this forum that noone folds to a reraise 4x bb. while that isn't true it i have noticed a reluctancy to fold in this spot. given that observation of online play this is really close but i like calling the least. if he c-bets and we missed the flop can we shove? eesh i think not.

this is actually a very intersting preflop dynamic btw, and Colson made the correct play only if he believes Randall will react the way that he did

Agreed with that, I think everyone who goes 'lol, obv instapush' here underestimates what's really going on. Then again, I don't think Colson would make this bet vs any random guy, I like the way he played this...although, AQ is certainly a standard 4x raise hand

yea that raise size seriously [censored] with my head. I think he's looking to get shoved on when he does this. That colson is so [censored] clever.

Colson is not some child idiot who's preflop hand strength headsup should be easily read due to the amount of his raise (at least that's the impression I get though I've never played with him). Against a good player like this I suspect that you'd be best served ignoring little "tells" like this and just playing normally.

I mean wtf, he's such a great player, yet you can also narrow down his hand range so much because he raises very slightly more PF? It seems ridiculous to me.

I'd basically do whatever you would do if he raised to 3x-3.5x the BB here.

i agree with action jeff. the 4x is just sketch. colson does play nice in the sb a decent amount of the time. he will limp aces, etc. so how far ahead of his range do you really think you are?

I think this is the thought behind colson's raise sizing.
