I have no problem with them being black. The people that it will bother probably will not enjoy the new forum anyway.

Eh, I don't particularly like it, but I think the forum will be good. So I'm an exception. But I don't care all that much if people think it's a great idea.

Ryan, the reason we take it seriously is because we care. We wouldn't care if we didn't like the site. Good job.

Nation, I agree that the perception of elitism is bad. I said so in the ATF thread as well. I would really hate for this concept to spread to many other forums.

All, we should have put in Gildwulf's mod contract that he has to crack a joke in every Mod Forum post. One of the big reasons he was picked was his sense of humor and we should've gotten more mileage out of that.

I mostly agree with this. Elitism on 2+2 is something I've been against for a long time. Still, I will never be against the general idea of trying out new stuff with new forums.

This shouldn't be seen as some massive shift in the way 2+2 is going forward. It's really not. This also isn't the first time a poster has basically been given their own forum to work with. For whatever reason the other guy's name is not coming to me at the moment, but I do remember that he had a forum at one point.

one note on the elitism. I think a lot this perception will be solved once everyone sees how quickly the list for thread starters expands. it will be really hard to say the forum is El Diablo and friends at that point
