Opening Moves That Lead to Head

Im just curious to hear any opinions on opening moves that lead to head, whether tried and true or just work some of the time.

My last failure included slow steady pressure to the back of the head during make-out on a couch, followed by straight up asking for it, followed by an even more pathetic "pleeeease."

By opening moves I mean the mood is set, alone and kissing etc, and then (___move___) but if you have advice on mood setting (lights on/off, music, watching porn, etc) by all means...
