Default 400NL flush on two pair board - bet river?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (2 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($703.40)
Button ($781.50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
Button raises to $12, Hero calls $8.

Flop: ($24) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $16, Hero raises to $60, Button calls $44.

Turn: ($144) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $128, Button calls $128.

River: ($400) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $232,

Is this a reckless bet on the river? He is paying me off a lot here, with any overpair, 9, of course hands that he beats me with. I c/r the flop because this is almost my default play with a draw. Plus I figured that if he has a pair, he won't reraise me, so I will put money in when being the favorite, will win a big pot if a flush comes - however, I am sure semibluff here was good. River bet is my only consideration. Villain has a little calling station tendencies against me.

i actually just did the exact same hand that i was going to post. two pair with a flush. I play it the same way, hoping a 9 or different pocket pair calls.

It's fine. There are only two hands that can raise, 7x and 99 (a 2 almost never does but also isn't really in villain's range).

As you said you get paid off by a large number of hands.

Maybe I'm a weak player, but I really don't like betting OTR here. I'm not sure if you're really getting paid off by a big range of hands that you have beat. I think check/call is the best line here.

The problem with c/c is that it our opponent is betting almost exclusively with hands that beat us with very very few bluffs on this board. All of the hands we want villain to call us with will check behind (any 9, over pair, smaller flush, A high, pocket pair less than 9).

IMO if youre not betting this, then there's a lg hole in your game.

OP played it fine. Maybe a bit larger raise OTR to reduce opponents bluffing frequency (and earn a bit more value from his calls). I'd make it to 250-300.

This is often overlooked and is a very good point. The bigger you make your bet, the more it's going to look like a bluff. I think you can easily get an extra 8+ PTBB out of this hand.

I agree with this. I think the bigger question is how much we should bet.

I think we can safely bump this bet up to ~$280 and get called by the same range.

Edit: I had this pretyped before going out to eat, I guess I was beat to it.
