(NL400) Turn play: I\'m always lost lost in these spots
Villain is a solid regular(21.5/9.7/1/5000)
Titan No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00/$4.00 (Titan HH Converter by Kreatief) MP1 ($353.10) (Hero) MP2 ($506.80) MP3 ($396.00) CO ($348.48) Button ($68.00) SB ($391.00) BB ($414.60) UTG+1 ($162.10) UTG+2 ($400.00) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 folds, Hero raises to 16.0, MP2 calls $16.00, MP3 calls $16.00, CO calls $16.00, 3 folds, Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ( $70 ) Hero bets $70.00, 1 folds, MP3 calls $70.00, 1 folds, Turn: J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ( $210 ) Hero ??? After his flop call I believe his range can be "narrowed" down to 44+,54s+ and combo draws like As7s. To call the pot-sized flop bet in a multiway pot he most definitely has some kind of hand he likes. How do I proceed on the turn and river? What about my flop play? Especially how do I protect my hand against draws while avoiding to pay off sets? |

this looks like a bet/fold situation all day to me. like $150 should tell you what you need to know. I don't think you're correct on the hand range of this player as I believe it is much wider. This type of player would almost CERTAINLY raise sets, two pairs and probably A7s as well. I think his range is more like Axs, 77-10s, maybe 67. Checking this turn to fold is very bad.

and im not a full ring guy but i still gotta believe that big combo draws and sets raise the flop i wouldnt quite pot the flop bc then it looks weird when you dont pot turn, and i dont want to be potting turn with this hand proly 55 on the flop and 125 or so on the turn |

Bet/Fold the turn is good. Ever consider limp/raising in this spot? |

QFT = quoted for truth
He will put me on TT+,two pair/set or a flush draw. I don't think this particular player would even call the flop with 88-TT in this multiway pot. I think he is good enough to know that he is way behind my range with these hands. I think he might maybe fold 77 as well as each of his outs puts a 4 straight on the board and he will have trouble getting paid off. |
