I can understand why it's necessary to prevent the ignoring of mods, but are secret non-labeled mods really a good idea?

What difference does it make if they're not deleting users or banning threads?
Obviously the Admins need some people for some purposes where they have to have mod access to do whatever it is that the Admins need them to do with mod access.
