Default Check-Raising into the Nuts

Was wondering how I did on this hand, I had been having a pretty crappy session overall and this hand pretty much crippled me and I walked away from my table and cashed out after it for my $11.

$3/$6 at my local B&M

I had KTO preflop in the small blind with 4-5 limpers. I called and the flop came K5X. Can't remember who bet but everyone called for $3. Turn comes K, giving me trips. Everyone checks around. Now I think I've got the nuts with my trips, so I checked the blank on the river. UTG bets $6 and UTG+2 calls. I raise to $12 and UTG calls. Other guy folds. I turn over my trips and he flips over 55 for the full house. What was a better way to play this hand?

I did the same earlier with KQo, button had limped AK.
I told him "nh" and in my head thanked him for letting me off so cheaply.

What was a better way to play which one, the fives or the KT? With the King-10, bet the turn and river and call down if someone raises. The flop is either a checkraise or just bet out, depending on what card "X" is, what are the suits, and who do you expect to bet (if anyone).

With the 55, don't slowplay like the other guy did.

You lost only $18 total in this hand; maybe 3/6 is too high for your bankroll if 18 bucks is crippling. Best wishes.

A better way was to lose more money.

Checking the flop is bad. Checking the turn is worse. Checking the river after the turn was checked around is just criminal.

This time you were against a better hand who played even worse than you. But the vast majority of the time, the river will get checked around and you'll pull in a tiny pot and wish you'd helped get some chips in the middle on the big streets.

bet the flop, bet the turn, raise the river, call a threebet.

Now I think I've got the nuts, so I checked the river.

Why would you go and do that?
