Default Hillary: Replace \"on your own\" society with \"shared responsibility\"

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070529/clint...nomy.html?.v=1

Lead line...

[ QUOTE ]
Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it's time to replace an "on your own" society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.

[/ QUOTE ]

Her statements seem to be in line with her overall "It takes a village" mentality, ie socialism or pseudo-socialism.

Everyone knows what all this means, tax increases on upper income folk and large corporations and huge government social programs.

Democrats, please vote for Obama or Edwards

Please, Hillary Clinton knows what's best for you. Why can't you just accept that?

Obama and Edwards are cut from the same cloth... they will have similar but more "hidden" statements. Hillary must be trying to grab the left, without admitting fault in her Iraq vote. I think most 2+2 ers know the real agenda of the left is to move as far toward socialism as possible, without actually saying it outloud. Hillary finally let the cat outta the bag.... amazing.

Strange as this may seem to someone as wise and all-knowing as yourself, some people might view a move toward socialism positively.

If so many people consider this positive...then why aren't the dems out there calling for the real agenda of moving us toward socialism as quickly as possible. All they have to do is come out and say it....they should win in a landslide no?

Take away guns (except for leaders)
Tax rate doubled, then tripled, then 100% (except for leaders)
Food Rations (leaders use public $ for most expensive food available)
Public Housing for all (except leaders, they get to keep mansions and protect them with guns)
Mandated work (except for leaders)

Maybe its just me.... but IM ever so HO, this would take away my life, liberty, and my pursuit of happiness. I would rather kill myself than live under those conditions.

Well, I've always wanted to visit Australia, maybe i would just move instead of killing myself.

On a serious note though.... doesnt this seem to provide a fast track to having a ruling elite class, and a group of "the rest of society"
I thought one of the goals of socialism was to minimize the gap between rich and poor. I think the gap would be incredibly large under this system.

I just noticed you are a Euro.... the reference to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness happens to be from America's Declaration of Independeance, and following that in the Declaration, Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it ( yes Right and People are capitalized in the Declaration)

Again, IMHO socialism works against my life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

I said "some" people not "a huge majority" or even "many" people.

No socialist I've ever met has ever claimed any exceptions for a ruling class to "enforce" equality.

Who wouldn't? Good thing I've never heard of anyone calling for those things. Good strawman, though. That'd be like my claiming AC would be horrible because it would be nothing but multi-national corporations running the place.

Good thing the system you just described has little to do with socialism and a lot to do with totalitarianism.

Why do you prefer the Illini to the rest of the Big Ten?
