Re: My answer.
sweet :> I used to do CX all through high school. I decided not to do it in college. But anyway, the whole idea of: Uniqueness, Link, Impact really helps you look at arguments and it should be standard teaching to everyone IMO.

Re: A 10-20 hand I played.
You played it fine. I give your friend 1/4 as I think the pre-flop call is OK but pretty close either way.
All the other streets are bad. He shoudl just call the flop and not shutout worse hands. As played, HU he should be check-calling the turn and river as he is chopping at best and risks getting blown off his chop by Ax or paying too much to go to showdown. As played, at least he found a good river fold to Button's raise. |

Re: A 10-20 hand I played.
Assuming your reads are correct, in this spot in a live game the button cold-caller has a king almost 100% of the time. You played the hand the only way you could play it.
As far as your best friend is concerned, if the turn had been any other card he could have safely check-folded. As it was, he must know the very best case scenario for him on the turn is a chop, so there is absolutely no value in betting. He should probably check-fold turn if he has a read and is confident in it. If that isn't the case, he could crying call down and hope the other player is nice/tricky enough to miss a bet somewhere. |

[/ QUOTE ] mmmm, 15 year old girls Yeah, I'm back. I actually played 15,000 hands in the last 5 days, so I'm having fun again. Omaha fish, that's awesome. I picked 1/4, thinking the turn bet wasn't that bad, but then I realized, that guy will always have an A or a K, so really, why bet. PF is really, really bad against ILP. Even if A7o is the nuts, he's just going to outplay(outflop) you anyway. |

Re: A 10-20 hand I played.
IMO you played your hand fine. I could think of a smooth call preflop.
I like your reasoning preflop and think that otherwise very good players at this site often overestimates their chances of realizing marginal preflop value postflop when OOP. For me the flop is a no-brainer but I have always been a folder Your friends play doesn't match my playing style at all I would have folded preflop I would not have raised flop. I would not have bet turn. I would not have bet river. I would not have folded river to a raise. |
