Help me make Vista work

I bought a new dell specifically for poker purposes and it came with Vista. I run Hud PT Smart buddy and 10 tables and it sucks. Has the same lag if not more then my laptop.I got the AMDx2 5400 2.8ghz with 2 MB RAM. What do I need to do to make this run smoothly? I just want to play poker without any lag. Nothing more.

get rid of vista and install xp if possible...

also, if you're running party poker, this may be a cause for a slow computer?
