Default Crazy Pineapple 8/b: Play AA aggressively?

I have no idea how to play this game. But I have played some O8 and tons of hold'em.

9-handed online .25/.5 game. Some people in this game fold pf. It's been 4-5 to the flop so far for the most part for one bet.

I raise A6sA UTG. Folds to SB who calls. BB calls.

Flop 975r

SB checks. BB bets. I raise to protect my hand? SB folds. BB calls

I discard the 6.

Turn is 5

BB bets. I decide to calldown.

Thoughts on everything is welcome

Playing overpairs in CP is extremely tricky, doubly so in hi/lo. You really have to keep track of what people will be aggressive with. Donkbets are often indicators that an overpair is no good, and you can't expect to see many threebets without the nuts or near-nuts, so his call by no means rules out a set or two pair. I certainly wouldn't expect my aces to be good very often here.

If you have a backdoor flush draw I'd strongly consider keeping the A6, as gutshot plus raggy low plus bdfd is pretty decent in a headsup pot where your opponent is unlikely to have any low draw.

People overplay low hands so much in this game it's unfreaking-believable. It makes LLO8 look like the thinking man's game, in comparison

I tend to go farther with my high hands than I ever would in O8. I am aggressive pre-flop, and back off post-flop unless it's HU and I know that monkey only has a low draw.

I make a lot more money in LLP8 on high hands than low.

I don't have a lot of experience, btw. Just some monkeying around on UB, for the most part, although I've played a few hundred hands of P8 live, too.

Yeah, I keep going with this hand also. If you get a 2 or 3 on the river, you may have 3/4 or all the pot. If another low card comes, you have at least half. In either scenario, you may be freerolling.

I don't think you're quite following the action. Hero discarded his low draw.

But the bare ace can win low.

You're right. I didn't see that the 5 paired the board, and thought he still had a low draw.

Anyway, now that I have the board figured out, is it correct for hero to keep AA and toss the 6?
