Default Little Help Please

LIVE. $2000 Event.

9 players remain.
HERO has > 50K in chips

LEVEL 300/1000/2000.

HERO cards: 9 6
Action folds to Hero on Btn

HERO raises to 7000, SB all-in T21,400, BB folds, HERO ??

14,400 to call here. SB is tight but also in pretty desperate shape. If my math is right its 14,400 to 33,100 so better than 2:1. What do we do here?

Fold pre. As played, fold to RR. I don't think you're getting equity against SB's range.

fold, most people with 10 bb arent as desperate as you would think, and any sort of range you assign him has you in terrible shape. Also, if you are going to raise, raise less next time to make the fold easier. A raise to 6000 or so does the same thing and makes this fold easier.

He has to be doing this with the top 15% of hands to be close math wise.

Board:
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 30.370% 30.04% 00.33% 100307028 1098734.50 { 9d6h }
Hand 1: 69.630% 69.30% 00.33% 231394783 1098734.50 { 77+, A7s+, K9s+, QTs+, JTs, ATo+, KTo+, QJo }

14400 into 33100 is 2.3-1 or 30% equity.

What was BBs stack? If it's around the same size as SBs I like an open shove, otherwise probably folding. As played I think it's a fold but pretty close.

stealing blinds/antes is imperative... but what's more important is to pick the right spot. The ideal target is a medium stack in this situation. At least try to pick a better hand than 9 high to steal... forget the odds you shouldn't have been in the hand in the first place.

first off why did you raise? did you have a read that blinds were weak and would fold easy? SB is not in a quite in danger stackwise so unless you have been doing this a lot he probably has something....as played I think I fold...too big a bite to my stack and too weak a hand even with odds

PF looks like "hey I'll raise and steal the blinds!"

That's fine, but as other's have said STACK SIZES!

Read Bond's post about stack sizes. Also, get in the
habit of multi-street thinking. The flop raise (and the
amount) affects the rest of the betting streets, which
frankly doesn't sound like you had a plan for.

Before you act, check the stack sizes behind you and
consider how you will respond to a RR, etc. When you
get to the point of 3-Betting and 4-Betting you'd
better have a multi-street plan, so start now and
plan responses ESPECIALLY when there are short-stacks
behind you.

Without this skill-set, limit your steals to spots
with value, and with a hand that warrants it.
