Default How to get around a school firewall block?

My school's network only allows html access to the internet through Firefox or IE. I would like to be able to get FTP or PS to work for downtime between classes. Any ideas?

thanks

This looks interesting. Can anyone confirm that this works well and is safe? Would it be possible to use from a schhol/library/hospital with a firewall or websense blocker?

Ayep -- works great. I've used it to run Stars and FTP tables on my home computer from anywhere. FTP is a little laggy but then what's new. Stars works like a charm. Logmein also has a full screen option that makes it look just like windows remote desktop. Highly recommended...

yea, if logmein doesn't work, set up some kind of proxy server to connect to ur home computer, it's kinda slow, but it's the only way i can connect from work as the IE here doesn't let me

you can probably do a search and find a list of established ones... not the safest way to connecte but again just dont do banking or play poker... if you are just looking for better ways to surf the web.
