Re: $10 MTT on PS, How do you play this QQ?
Id raise it to 250 instead of 400, and folding to this dudes shove. Lets give him a range of JJ+/ AKo/s. You have 47.3% equity.

Re: $10 MTT on PS, How do you play this QQ?
Id personally go to 300 but 400 is fine given its first level of a $10. As played call...I see 47% against JJ+,AK was quoted above & that is a definite call, & he can show up with worse stuff here

[/ QUOTE ] if that's your range for him you're getting around 1.3-1 and should call surely. i definitely call here, and its even clearer because of the particular situation - huge field, many donks who will show you a lower pair/AQ/AJ, especially in the first level. also I think you see AK relatively more frequently than AA/KK here than pokerstove can account for because AK will almost always shove, while AA/KK will sometimes get cute and flat call or min-reraise. agreed that the preflop raise is more than is standard. you could make the case that it's probably not horrible here given how often you'll get called by one or more worse hands. personally i make it more like what the others have suggested though |

Re: $10 MTT on PS, How do you play this QQ?
400 seems to be overkill for the raise....I'm more likely to take it to 240. It's hard for me to lay down QQ in the first level of a $10 MTT on stars. Absent any reads, I take my presumed race and would not be surprised to see something like JTs or Axs. When the flush rivers I simply go on life tilt and drink myself into oblivion. If he has AA or KK, meh, I probably still drink myself into oblivion, but at least it wasn't a bad beat..then I post on SSMTT and figure out how to get away from QQ in the first level of a tournament.

Hello,
Looked like a fold to me at first but after I read the posts I am confident it is a call. Thanks for the help guys. Which program do you use for calculating the odds after you put your opponent on a variety of hands? |

This should have been a call, donks are plentiful early on in tournaments. This could be less than AK even.
