Sorry, I have no idea who Ron Darling is. I thought it was some cute nickname for Ron Santo.

My statement about Santo still stands.

Listening to him shout "NOOOOOOOOO!" after the Bartman/groundball incident is a not-so-guilty pleasure of mine.

Their management finally got their heads out of their asses.

[/ QUOTE ]

They did? Jason Marquis? Alfonso Soriano? Eric Patterson? Jason Kendall?

[/ QUOTE ]

The Soriano deal was that bad? Obv Kendall was really bad. I am not familiar with the Patterson thing, he was called up from the minors? What was the mistake there (honestly asking, not familiar)?

I'm not a huge Cubs fan or anything but it seemed like this year they finally decided to stop openly robbing all of their ridiculous fans who sell out the stadium and actually enjoy losing. This seemed like a good thing to me.

The Soriano deal looks great now, but recall that he is a lot older than most people think and you guys inked him to a long-term deal.

The fact that you are unaware of Eric Patterson is the reason that the Cubs are embarassing. He is tearing the [censored] out of the ball in the minors.

There's also the Trachsel trade and the fact that you guys had an effective lefty pitcher to replace Ohman/Eyre... but now he's pitching for the Oakland A's.

Pretty good pitcher for the Mets in the 80s and 90s. First time I ever heard of a split-finger was when I saw a picture of his grip in an issue of SI for Kids.

lol Ron Darling was a pitcher for the Mets and A's. he and a couple other clowns do the SNY broadcasts for the Mets. ESPN recently named them the greatest broadcast team in the nation.

Definitely don't say "you guys." I'm a Twins fan at heart, so if any team is "we" or "us" to me its them, but I usually try to root with my brain.

IOW, this is why I don't know that much about the Cubs, they are far from "my team." I just didn't expect you to hate them, and be cheering for the greatest team of luckboxes ever

Cubs fans are idiots for supporting the smallest and dumbest front office in baseball. As Mikey said, they bring it on themselves.

[/ QUOTE ]

This might be the worst/dumbest argument I've seen made for any point, ever.

Why? Supporting a team run by idiots doesn't make you a lovable loser. It makes you tolerant of stupidity.
