Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] (call is ok right?). [/ QUOTE ] lol [ QUOTE ] Villain leads out $75. Both fish fold. I? [/ QUOTE ] Say "What've you got? Aces? Or kings?". Then push all-in. [/ QUOTE ] they are 800 dollars deep. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly. [/ QUOTE ] lol? ryan id start by calling the flop [/ QUOTE ] Not raising this flop is terrible. Assuming villain has a big pair or AK, the only hand that OP is in trouble against is TT, which seems a less likely holding than QQ+. If you don't exploit the fold equity a big raise would have (as OP said he didn't like villain was likely to get his stack in with AA or KK too readily), you'll probably be facing a pot sized turn bet which you won't have the odds to call (assuming you miss your outs). If you do hit one of your outs, villain is likely to slow down against a 3flush or a ten anyway. Shoving lets you see both the turn and river against a range you're flipping with, and has great fold equity. A raise to $300 is fine, too. [/ QUOTE ] we're not arguing that pushing isn't +EV, we're just saying that calling might be +EV (and obv. considerably less variance. 2. actually you DO have the pot odds to call a PSB on a blank turn , even discounting implied odds. |

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
preflop id reraise the first time around, and second time around obviously see a flop.
if raising WAS better, it would be to make a VERY SMALL RAISE THAT LOOKS BLUFFY AND/OR "I KNOW YOU HAVE AK LOLOL". but it's not. |

[/ QUOTE ] Raising the first time around might be good against some players but man these 2 guys were fishy. I'm quite sure calling in position and keeping the pot small is correct cause they're just probably not folding to the reraise and I have a ton of implied odds against these monkeys if I hit big. |

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
OK, in the actual hand I raised to $225. I should have probably made it slightly more but whatever. Villain called.
Turn is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] The board is now T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain checks and says "I have TT". I? I'll post what I did and why I made the actions I did on each street later and we'll see if you guys agree/disagree. |

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
By the way, my read is that I'm probably more than 50% sure that he'll fold AA/KK to a push (if he even has those), but I obviously am only a certain percentage sure of my 50%+ read, and I don't know what that percentage is because I've only been playing with him for 2 hours or so.

you said he tells the truth more than 50% of the time he talks a/b his hand, so check behind and if he checks again then he's prob full of [censored].

Re: 1/2 JTs TP/big draw deep.
Wow, I can't believe 3 of you have said check. I have a massive number of outs and I really can't see him calling a push without a set, know what I mean? He *might* call w/ AA, KK, who knows...
