villain is 28/5/1. he multi tables and ive seen him on a lot lately so maybe hes not a loser but does seem like one.

he limped utg, usually that means small pairs which is pretty bad if its the case, but he has vpip 24 so that might not be the case. If his vpip would be smaller I would just check this behind since u have the Kd so he didn't pickup any outs on turn.

I really hate being check raised on turn here, but if that happens u must fold alot of times if u dont think he raises A6 and A4. Easiest way to play would ofcourse be to pot control it on turn and check and u shouldn't have too much problem just calling his healthy lead / bet yourself raise his weak lead.

Raised2Win stated most of my thoughts as playing the hand...

of course if i know he will c/r with A6 and A4 i can bet/call the turn and if i know he will not i can bet/fold. unfortunately i had pretty much no idea if he would or not. i ended up checking behind turn figuring i can then at least get some value from a king on the river most likely.

River: ($183) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets $90, Hero ?

Raise or call?

I'd definitely call this. I couldn't fold, and I hate two pair and often lose with it, so I'm not raising.

(I play micro, so take it for what it's worth -- a few cents.)

Why is it poor logic? I don't think two pair is that strong of a hand. Are you going to call a push or re-raise if you raise river?

If you aren't going to bet the turn, why push it now?

I'd call. I'd hate to get re-raised if I raise at the river since folding top 2-pair isn't a good option. Looks like villain is making a blocking bet or a trappy value bet. If it's a weak blocker, then he folds if you raise. But if he is stronger than 2-pair, then he'll reraise or push if you raise and you'll probably have a hard time justifying a fold with top 2-pair.

what i quoted was poor logic because it wasn't logic at all. something like i think his range for that bet is x, and this is what he does with those various to raises of various sizes, therefore the best play is y would be good logic and a better way to determine whether or not i should raise.

because he bet smallish and i wasn't so sure checking the turn was correct anyway.
