Re: David Lee Roth back in Van Halen

Losing M Anthony you lose the high harmony. Not too much to worry about on bass though. Couldn't really hear it much anyways other than the beginning of a couple songs. Still not really happy that he won't be there. [/ QUOTE ] bernie - Eddie's kid is the new bass player. I don't think he'll have a problem handling the high harmony...at least until his balls drop. |

[ QUOTE ] probably the most overrated band of all time. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah... i mean... they have one of the worlds best guitar players, an above average drummer, and a front man that just ooozes rock and roll... but your probably right. [/ QUOTE ] Hahaha..yeah 20 years ago. From the looks of things he's oozing alot more than rock & roll. Christ the guy looks like he's decaying. |

Van Halen Tribute Band "The Atomic Punks" I've heard Michael Anthony sits in with them sometimes. Also, I didn't check the vid, so it's possible he's in it. [/ QUOTE ] No, Michael Anthony isn't in this YouTube video, but the guy they have sounds just as good IMO. Plus the singer nails David Lee Roth's singing and talking voice (and those high-pitch screams); the only real difference is that this guy has all his hair. Oh, and this band's Eddie needs a tan. |

Van Halen Tribute Band "The Atomic Punks" [/ QUOTE ] These guys are great. Haven't seen them with their new guitar player though. I try and see them whenever they're up here. Had a funny run in with them at a Denny's after a show. I saw them at the Whisky in LA. If you turned your head, they sounded exactly like VH. Got a great shout out from them at that show. Was kinda odd having the whole show(which was packed to the walls) stop and look at me. But it was pretty cool, too. Just raised my glass, nodded and Bottoms Up! b |

Van Halen Tribute Band "The Atomic Punks" [/ QUOTE ] They are pretty damn good live. The lead singer does an awesome job imitating (or emulating, per Colbert). I also saw David Lee Roth solo a few years ago. Front row. I've never seen a more hilarious concert. I can still picture a drunk David Lee Roth trying to do a 360 kick. He was out of control... |

[/ QUOTE ] It is kinda sad to see his kicks barely going 1/2 way up and the whole aging process taking form. Which is one reason I passed on seeing him play at a local casino the other month. However, with VH, there's no way I'm missing that. b |
